Affiliate and Advertising Disclosure

Last updated: October 16, 2026

Taste and Wonders of Italy is written and run by one person, Mirco Vitellozzi, an Italian engineer who lives in Le Marche. Writing it takes time, and part of that time is paid for by the links and ads described on this page. You deserve to know how that works, so here it is, plainly.

Affiliate links

Some articles contain affiliate links. If you click one and then book or buy something, I may earn a small commission from the company that sells it. The price you pay is exactly the same as if you had gone to that website directly.

At the moment, the affiliate programs used on this website are:

  • GetYourGuide: tours, tickets and experiences in Italy.
  • Trainline (through the Partnerize network): rail passes and train travel.

Affiliate links are marked in the page code as sponsored, as Google requires.

Advertising

Some pages show advertisements served by Google AdSense. I do not choose the individual ads you see, and an ad appearing on this website is not a recommendation. Ads are kept away from pages where they would get in the way of a decision that matters, such as the property survey pages.

How I decide what to recommend

Commissions do not decide what I write. I recommend experiences only after checking them against what I know of the place, the operator’s track record and the reviews of real travelers, and I regularly point out what I would skip, even when skipping it costs me a commission. When I have personally taken part in a tour or stayed somewhere, I say so; when I have not, I say that too.

Nobody pays to be included in an article on this website. If a company ever sponsors a piece of content, that piece will be clearly labeled as sponsored at the top, before you start reading.

My professional services

Separately from the blog, I offer paid professional services, such as property surveys for buyers in Le Marche. Those services are paid only by the client who hires me. I do not take commissions from real estate agents, sellers, builders or any other party in a property transaction, and I do not sell houses.

Why this page exists

Most readers of this website are in the United States, where the Federal Trade Commission’s Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising (16 CFR Part 255) require that material connections between a writer and the products they mention be clearly disclosed. Italian and European consumer law asks for the same transparency. Beyond the law, it is simply how I would want to be treated as a reader.
