This page explains which cookies and similar technologies Taste and Wonders of Italy uses, and how you can control them. It complements the Privacy Policy, which tells you who is responsible for your data (Mirco Vitellozzi, Porto San Giorgio, Italy) and what your rights are.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. Some are strictly necessary for a site to work. Others are used to measure audiences or to show advertising, and under European law (Art. 122 of the Italian Privacy Code and the Italian data protection authority’s cookie guidelines of June 10, 2021) these can only be used with your consent. Similar technologies, such as local storage, follow the same rules.
Cookies this website uses
Strictly necessary
These cookies do not require consent because the site, or a function you ask for, cannot work without them.
- Consent preference cookies (such as FCCDCF and FCNEC, set by Google’s consent tool): remember the choices you made in the cookie banner, so you are not asked again on every page. Duration: up to 13 months.
- WordPress comment cookies (comment_author_*): set only if you leave a comment and choose to have your name and email remembered. Duration: up to 1 year.
Advertising cookies (Google AdSense)
These are set by Google and its advertising partners to show ads, limit repetition, measure performance, prevent fraud and, if you agree, show ads based on your interests. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland they are only used for the purposes you accept in the banner.
- __gads, __gpi, __eoi (tasteandwondersofitaly.com, set by Google): ad delivery, frequency capping and measurement. Duration: up to 13 months.
- IDE, DSID, test_cookie, ar_debug (doubleclick.net, set by Google): ad personalization, measurement and fraud prevention. Duration: from a few minutes up to 13 months.
Google publishes the full and current list of its advertising cookies at policies.google.com/technologies/cookies. Advertising partners that participate through the IAB Transparency and Consent Framework are listed, with their purposes, in the consent banner itself.
What this website does not use
The article view counter (WordPress Popular Posts) does not set cookies. Affiliate links, such as those to GetYourGuide or Trainline, do not set cookies on this website: the partner site may set its own cookies once you arrive there, under its own policy.
How to give, change or withdraw consent
When you first visit from Europe, a banner lets you accept all advertising cookies, reject them, or choose purpose by purpose. Rejecting is as easy as accepting, and closing the banner does not count as consent. You can change your mind at any time with the “Privacy and cookie settings” link available on every page.
You can also block or delete cookies from your browser settings. Here are the instructions for the most common browsers: Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge. Blocking all cookies may affect how some websites work.
To limit interest-based ads from Google in any country, visit adssettings.google.com.
